Physicist receives Outstanding Young Researcher Award

Chong-Yu Ruan, assistant professor of physics and astronomy, is the co-winner of the 2009 Outstanding Young Researcher Award of the Overseas Chinese Physics Association. The award is given each year to young ethnic Chinese physicists outside of Asia in recognition of their outstanding achievements in physics. Ruan was recognized for his work on ultra-fast electron diffraction.

Carbon power: Attacking global poverty, climate change – MSU Special Report

Michigan State University is a world leader in using environmental research aimed at fighting poverty and slowing climate change. MSU appoints Siddharth Chandra as new Asian Studies Center director

Michigan State University has appointed Siddharth Chandra, a recognized expert in economics and international affairs, as director of the Asian Studies Center, effective Aug.15. Chandra will also serve as a professor in MSU’s James Madison College.
