Molly Fillmore, a voice faculty member at MSU's College of Music, will hit the big screen Nov. 19 as she performs the role of Mrs. Naidoo in the Metropolitan Opera fall production of "Satyagraha" in New York City this month.

Countless designers work their entire lives to earn red-carpet praise. But MSU apparel and textile design senior Jillian Granz, 21, has accomplished that feat, thanks to her talent for combining sustainability and style. The 2010 Oscars’ red carpet will serve as a runway for this young designer’s first sustainable dress when Suzy Amis Cameron, wife of “Avatar” producer James Cameron, wears it to the Academy Awards on March 7.

Michigan State University is home to a new National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center known as BEACON – the Bio/computational Evolution in Action CONsortium.
