EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University has canceled the remaining clinics for seasonal flu vaccine due to shortages being felt nationwide.

Beginning with the Oct. 5 site at the College of Law, all remaining clinics will be canceled. The seasonal flu vaccine, which is not a vaccination for the H1N1 virus, may still be available in limited quantities by visiting your primary care physician, county health department or local grocer or pharmacy.

For general information on seasonal flu, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at http://cdc.gov/flu/.

An H1N1 vaccine is currently in production and should be ready for the public in mid- to late October, according to the CDC. Once that vaccine is made available by federal health officials, MSU will work with the Ingham County Health Department, the agency that will coordinate the delivery of the vaccine on campus. MSU is planning to make the vaccine available on campus.
