College of Veterinary Medicine honors small-animal professor

EAST LANSING, Mich. — John M. Kruger, professor of small animal clinical sciences and associate chairperson for research in that department, has received the 2009 Pfizer Animal Health Award for Research Excellence.

The College of Veterinary Medicine presented the award, sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, at Phi Zeta Research Day on Oct. 2.

Kruger is internationally recognized as an expert on lower urinary tract diseases of the dog and cat and is considered by many veterinary internists to be the world's expert on the subject of feline idiopathic lower urinary tract disease.
