EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State University Alumni Association has elected seven new members to serve on its National Alumni Board.

The newly elected board members are:

  • James A. Alexander of Marietta, Ga., vice president at The Weather Channel
  • Laurie M. Dama of Minneapolis, Minn., president of MSU's regional club in Minneapolis
  • Kevin M. Kirk of St. Johns, animal health liaison for the state of Michigan
  • Timothy D. Mather of Okemos, president of Mather Software
  • Patrick M. McPharlin of Okemos, vice president of operations at MSU Federal Credit Union
  • Gary C. Mescher of Grand Rapids, director of business development at Rehmann Robson & Co.
  • Gordon D. Spink of Okemos, director of the osteopathic internship program at Ingham County Regional Medical Center

MSU Alumni Association's National Alumni Board includes representatives from regional clubs, constituent associations and "at large" categories. Board members serve for three years unless elected as chairperson, in which case the tenure may be extended a fourth year.

The MSU Alumni Association is a membership organization for alumni and friends of Michigan State University. It is organizationally a part of the university and currently has approximately 42,000 members worldwide.
