The Kresge Art Museum at Michigan State University will reopen Sept. 2 with two shows celebrating Korea.
“Haeri Yoo: Paper Deep,” an intensely contemporary installation by Korean-born artist Haeri Yoo, will run simultaneously with “Gods, Demons, and General: Icons of Korean Shamanism,” a historical look at Korean culture.
Yoo recently executed a large scale, mixed-media installation on two gallery walls in the museum. The Kresge Art Museum piece represents Yoo's first work in Michigan. Yoo will return to MSU Sept. 28 in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters' Department of Art and Art History Visiting Artist series, for class visits and lectures.
The Kresge Art Museum is located on the first floor of the Kresge Art Center, at the intersection of Physics and Auditorium roads between the Alumni Chapel and the MSU Auditorium.
September through May museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; Thursday until 8 p.m.; and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
