EAST LANSING. Mich. -- WKAR-TV, mid-Michigan’s public television station, will present two free previews of filmmaker Ken Burns’ upcoming public TV series, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.”

The first presentation will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 2, at Celebration Cinema in Lansing. He will screen a segment of his film and answer audience questions.

A preview of “The National Parks” will be held at 7 p.m., Sept. 17 at the Michigan Theatre in Jackson.  In addition to the documentary screening, members of WKAR-TV’s digital television team will be on hand to answer audience questions about digital television and antennas.

There is no charge for either screening, and reservations are not required. Guests will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Burns’ series will premiere on WKAR-TV at 8 p.m. Sept. 27, and will continue into October. For more details about the series or how you can share your photos celebrating Michigan’s beauty, environment and activities on WKAR.org’s “Outdoors in Michigan” Web site, visit http://www.WKAR.org.
